Before taking the bench, Judge David Warren was a partner in a large, prominent law firm and for over 27 years concentrated his practice in the areas of bankruptcy and commercial law. For many of those years, at the same time, Judge Warren served on the Panel of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustees for the Eastern District of North Carolina and was the trustee in hundreds of Chapter 7 cases involving individuals and businesses. Judge Warren has also been a pioneer in teaching bankruptcy in law schools, integrating law school classes with his courtroom and focusing the study of law on the issues of actual cases on Judge Warren’s docket.
