Judge Joe Callaway is a sitting United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Prior to taking the bench, Judge Callaway was partner in a law firm in which he headed the bankruptcy and creditor rights practice. He spent three decades practicing in those areas and is certified as both a Business and Consumer Bankruptcy Law Specialist by the North Carolina State Bar and by the American Board of Certification. For many of three decades, Judge Callaway served as Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee. On the bench, Judge Callaway likely has as much experience as any judge presiding over Chapter 12 and other farm bankruptcy cases.
